Stainless steel flat steel (square bar) 303
Stainless steel flat bar (rectangular bar) 303 contains sulfur to improve machinability of T304. It is resistant to atmospheric elements as well as many chemicals, dyes and foods. It is used in machining applications where formability is not essential.
Stainless steel flat bar (square bar) 303 is an austenitic alloy containing chromium and nickel. This combination gives it excellent corrosion resistance as well as good mechanical properties. It is non-magnetic and can be heat treated to increase its strength. One downside of stainless flat bar (square bar) 303 is that it is not as wear resistant as some other alloys, so it may not be the best choice for applications where there is a lot of friction.
